Hebrews 10:25

After receiving the gift of salvation, we are instructed to grow deeper and more mature in our relationship with God. We prioritize discipleship groups to help our congregation work towards the spiritual maturity that we've been called to pursue.  Discipleship groups meet on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.  Our Fall 2024 discipleship groups will be topical. Take an opportunity to review the different topics and teachers, then fill out the form at the bottom of the page to sign up for a group!

Fall 2024 Small Groups

Book Club: Forgiving What You Can't Forget

Teacher: Ashley Purvis

Description:
Have you ever been so upset with someone that you didn't think you'd be able to forgive them? In this small group, we will examine the text, Forgiving What You Can't Forget by Lysa Terkeurst. The goal of this group is to forgive others, move forward, and rediscover peace in order to live a beautiful, Christ-filled life.

Heaven: Finding Our True Home

Teacher: Dean Tucker

Description:
Probably no word brings more calm into our lives than the word heaven. But when most Christians actually try to describe their future life in heaven, the picture gets pretty fuzzy. To some people, heaven looks like perpetual retirement - sitting on a cloud, strumming a harp. Other people think of heaven as an endless church service. We all want to go to this place called "heaven", but we are unsure what it will really be like. What we need is accurate, reliable information about heaven - and that's exactly what we find in the Bible.

These eight studies will help you develop a biblical view of heaven. You should be warned that the truth you discover might change your perspective. You might begin to see heaven as a place of limitless possibilities! Our future home is not simply a place separated from the evil and pain and sorrow of this world. Heaven is also an entrance into incredible joy, peace, activity, responsibility, and rest.

The Bait of Satan

Teacher: Phyllis Lasseter

Description:
Luke 17:1 says "...it is impossible but that offenses will come..."

In his book, The Bait of Satan, John Bevere warns - Don't be fooled! You will encounter offense and it is up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future.

If not dealt with, offense will eventually lead to (spiritual) death, but when you resist the temptation to be offended, God brings great victory. We must all come to the place where we trust God and not flesh.

The Book of James

Teacher: Junior Horton

Description:
James, one of the brothers of Jesus, became a leader of the church in Jerusalem after Jesus' death and resurrection. The book of James is a collection of his best teachings and advice that was sent to other believers throughout the Roman empire. The conversational style, short and pithy sayings, and interweaving of themes all make this book similar to the wisdom writings found in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

In his book, James imparts Godly wisdom as a valuable guide to believers in both centuries past and present. Themes of purity, Godliness, unity, patience, and endurance are just as relevant for believers navigating today's world as they were during the time of the Roman Empire. Join us for 8 weeks of study as we dive deep into these resourceful 5 chapters of the Bible.
